The Borough Council of Seaside Heights has adopted a set of ordinances that apply to conduct within the borough. The following are the more widely issued violations issued by the police in Seaside Heights.
17-10. Purchasing, acceptance or consumption of alcohol by a minor. This is the mirror ordinance to the New Jersey drinking under age law. It also prohibits entry into premises limited to those of legal age to consume alcohol.
17-12. Misrepresentation by a minor in order to purchase alcohol. Here the Council is targeting those who use a fake, false and fraudulent driver’s license to obtain alcohol or gain admittance to an establishment where it is served.

This is directed at any conduct that “creates any disturbance by violence.” This is the catchall ordinance utilized by Seaside Heights police officers whenever they allege someone acted unruly, misbehaved, were intoxicated in public or otherwise engaged in conduct that caused a disturbance (e.g. disorderly).
The penalties for most ordinance violations carry a maximum fine of $1,250, up to 90 days in the county jail, and a period of community service.
